Haus in Schwarz (House in Black)
In the city centre of Möhringen, Germany, used to stand an unusual house that was painted completely black.
It was a 2008 public art piece by artists Erik Sturm und Simon Jung.
The piece was meant as a farewell to the building which was slated for demolition.
The black paint represented a curtain for the house, whose exterior had been used as a canvas by numerous street artists.
After it was demolished, the owner, art gallery manager Karin Abt-Straubinger, built a new gallery on the site.
this one time in art class we were painting and my teacher was like

you can use laser imaging to see what is hidden underneath the paint…

another clothing art theft story i can add to my list. the popular online clothing store Romwe has decided to steal my artwork without permission for a new sweater design. (it’s a re-coloring of my original artwork which can be seen here.) just so you know: i’m not making a penny off of this! please do NOT buy this item, and if you can/feel like it, spread the word about what jerks Romwe are :(
Guh … more online stores ripping off artists >.<
signal boost the heck out of this!
i still can’t believe that the incredibles is likely set in the 1960s
the entire film is designed with classic 50s-60s art styles, a lot of the interior design of the parr household is in 60s style, fashion is generally reminiscent of the 60s, in the beginning of the film all the photographs and video are grainy and shot in 60s style, the technology in bob’s office is very dated, when edna is going on her “no capes” rant she cites superheroes who died from cape designs and says their deaths were in the 50s, all the cars in the film have 60s models, any advanced tech we really see is seemingly kept secret from the general public, here’s a newspaper from the film:

Holy fuck
Jack-jack is a baby boomer
Baby Boomer? Jack-Jack? I trusted him…
Today I let one of the girls at my internship paint my nails. A few girls exclaimed, “that’s weird!” and one boy timidly asked, “are you actually letting her paint your nails?” I told them that boys are allowed to paint their nails and asked them who told them they couldn’t? None of them had an answer. And one-by-one the boys came over to the nail painting station and started doing their own nails, and each others nails, and one boy even got really excited and asked if he could do my other hand and it was just a really cool thing to see.
When the parents came to pick up the kids, the boy who had enthusiastically painted my nails, started scraping off his nail polish. I asked him why he was doing that an he said that one time he wore his sister’s nail polish and his dad gave him a “whoopin’”. And then, in the meekest voice I’ve very heard, he whispers, “but next time I come to [the program], I think I’ll just paint them again, anyways… I think sometimes parents can be wrong about stuff too.” I half-smiled and whispered back, “I think you might be right.” And helped him take the rest off with nail polish remover.
And that was the coolest moment of my day.
throwback to that time in my existentialism class where the professor asked ‘who thinks hell is other people’ and half the class slowly and meekly put their hand up
then the prof was like ‘…i mean who originally said it’
